My Art is defined through the magic of a blank canvas where I create a place that may be whimsical but only exists in my reality. I love producing a mood with exciting colors and unique compositions and welcome everyone into my imagination to view art with a new perspective. When I developed a series of Impressionistic Watercolors from photographs, which were taken during Sunday outings in Massachusetts, I always edited the image. I enjoy limiting the details so the viewer has a chance to visit these paintings with their personal history and hopefully it will bring back a special memory. With my Acrylics, Mixed Media and Monotypes I fabricate places and exaggerate my perspective by skewing the images. They give a childlike view of the world but through the experience of an adult mind. I incorporate images that lean and sometimes extend outside the borders of the canvas. These designs express my refusal to be confined by an inner ear imbalance which I live with daily. I believe humor is the doorway we may enter to survive challenging times. We have all been touched by crisis either personally, through a family member, or a close friend. I choose to remind people of the inner joy and hope to achieve this through my love of color, choice of subject matter, and the light in my paintings. Art can take you away on a mini vacation - just sit back, relax and dream~
